I'm interested in creating a fallback board as a bunker-bunker. Is this an agreeable idea Site Admin? It probably won't ever have much traffic as long as Julay stays up, but if it goes down for any reason, I'll migrate us the new board.

Follow site rules, keep the content legal, don't skirt the line.
If you can obey that, create whatever board you want.

That's not an issue as we have always been a SFW board from the beginning. If Julay went down permanently, then I'd also want to migrate all thread content in a mass dump. I can write code to preprocess all the content into whatever format you'd like to prep for that process. Would you be willing to work with me to perform that operation should the need arise?

One of the things I like about what you're doing here is you seem to be creating a new IB server, true?

I'm pretty sure lynxchan has an API that I could pull most of the data from. Of course it would need some hacking and I would have to rip all the media/files which may not be possible to grab if julay went offline suddenly.
I am happy to try and migrate your board. No guarantees it will work. If you are really worried about Julay then visit the you can contact me via email (bottom of faq page) or discord (on the github repo)
Yes, this is a different imageboard software, not lynxchan. It is still a work in progress but its slowly improving.

May I also ask what the board is? I don't judge, just curious what I'm agreeing to.
And capcoded for records sake.

I keep all backups current daily, so no problem. I can also write a scraper from scratch if it was needed.

To give you an idea of the load, back on 8ch we had 112 threads, ~5500 posts over ~3yrs. pretty slow board overall, but sometimes bursty.

There is no documentation for this site atm, but there is JSON api you can read for example: https://fatpeople.lol/t/thread/145.json
That should give you an idea of the format of posts. If you can convert lynxchan data to something close to that, it may be possible.

Sure, I don't see why that should be a problem Admin. I'll go ahead and create the bunker-bunker as a placeholder then if you don't mind?

I was just thinking it might even be easier to use a bot (i could bypass antispam) and make all the posts just by sending all the requests through a script. Instead of manually adding posts and hacking together the database.

And yeah, >>153 go ahead account creation and board creation is enabled.

Yes, exactly my thoughts.

Will do.

Done. I'll add a bunker-bunker thread for redirects and lock it. Thanks, Admin.

BTW, I screwed up the 'subject' for the welcome thread. Any chance you could adapt the 'Staff Actions:' interface to allow for changing that at some point?
There is no post editing yet, but I could manually edit the subject if you want, and it will show up next time the page rebuilds. Just lmk what you want it to be.

This place isn't feature parity with some mature imageboard like lynxchan yet. Stuff like post editing (minor) and mod view (major) is still in the works.
The manage page does not require captchas to process reports in the report list, its only for stuff on public pages. Sorry if it gets annoying.

Welcome to /robowaifu/

Thanks Admin. And no worries about changes, there's no rush. Heh, I'm a software guy myself so I understand. Again, the fact you are creating this from scratch is the primary appeal for me tbh. We need more choices for resiliency in the face of antagonism and attacks. Thanks again.
